Membership privileges

Medicinska föreningen is working hard to make sure that you get as much as possible out of your membership. Above all Medicinska föreningen is aiming to guarantee the quality of your education. MF daily practises study politic against decision makers and politicians. We also have representatives in most of the KI´s bodies that handles matters of education. KI and MF has a close cooperation to make sure that you get as much as possible out of your time at KI - as well your studies and your study environment as your student life!

Besides the student politics, there are a number of other advantages that a membership in Medicinska föreningen gives you:

From the 1st of January 2012 Medicinska föreningen also works with STA Travel wich means that you, as a member of MF, gets 10% off all hotel and hostel bookings from STA Travel, plus no booking fee which is normaly 250 SEK! Isn´t that great!

From the Optician students at KI all members of Medicinska föreningen gets a discount on eye examinations, glasses, lenses etc. if you show your Mecenat card with the Medicinska föreningen logotype! Call +46(0)8-123 23027 to book an appointment.

• you can apply for Schollarships from MF.
• you can apply for housing from SSSB, the Student housing association in Stockholm (to apply for housing from SSSB you have to study for at least 50% or take 15hp /semester). Here is the direct link to their information about tenancy reviews, check ups on your study results and more, which is good for you to know if you want to be a member of the SSSB.
• you can get help and counselling from our student ombudsman and our PhD ombudsman if you have study related problems.
• you can rent Medicinska föreningen´s cottage Solvik at Värmdö and our MF-building in Solna at discounted prices.
• you can get legal guidance from the lawyers at SSCO.

Medicinska föreningen also works with Mecenat, who gives you the Mecenat card. The card is your student ID and gives you hundred of student discounts. At mecenat.se you find a complete list, but here are some examples:

• 200 SEK off the SL-card every month (to get this discount you have to study for at least 75% or take 22,5hp /semester).
• discount on software from Microsoft.
• 10% off on Apple-products.
• 5-20% off on HP Computers.

• 10% off on experiences and adventures at Live it.
• 10% off and no shiping fee at Lensway.
• Newspaper and magazine subscriptions at student price.

• Cheaper flights and travels with SAS, SJ, Skyways, Swebus and a lot of others.
• Student discount at Tele2.
• 40% off at Comfort Hotels and up to 60% off at Scandic.
• 10% off at Gymgrossisten, Löplabbet, Outnet and Sportson.

OBS! You have to be a student member of Medicinska föreningen and NOT a supportive member, elected member or a permanent member of MF, to get the student discounts.
